Sometimes your basement is nothing more than dark corners and concrete floors. It can take a lot of work turning it into a truly finished addition to your home. A big part of that is figuring out your basement HVAC needs. Heating and cooling can be a lot different compared to the rest of your home since basement HVAC systems are often partially or entirely underground.
Take advantage of our expert advice for best results. We can work together to craft the solution right for your home and budget.
Should I upgrade MY HVAC equipment? You don’t always need new or more powerful HVAC equipment when choosing basement HVAC solutions. Sometimes what you have will fulfill any heating and cooling needs. Even if this isn’t the case, upgrading your equipment may not be necessary.
Our technicians may recommend other options like a ductless mini-split system. They are designed for smaller spaces and can provide reliable heating and cooling. Installing a mini-split may be more cost effective than upgrading the rest of your HVAC system.
Will I need more ductwork? Larger basements are more likely to need additional ductwork, especially if newly renovated areas are further away from the rest of your home. However, our technicians may determine that basement ductwork isn’t necessary, perhaps because it can get the heating and cooling it needs from other HVAC equipment. For example, a mini-split doesn’t need ductwork.
If you do end up needing basement ductwork, our duct design services will ensure they’re laid out in the most efficient manner possible. We can even fabricate sheet metal for custom designs.
What do you plan on using your basement for? The intended use can help inform our staff what heating and cooling solutions to consider. A workout or storage space may only need minimal HVAC support, while another bedroom will do best with what’s used for the rest of the home.
